SAFETY - FOR USE ON INFANTS. Always use the gentlest setting and the finest attachment for a newborn. Hold the baby's finger steady and work in short passes, keeping the file away from skin. Stop immediately if the baby becomes distressed or if any skin is reddened. Never leave the device within a child's reach. This is a grooming tool, not a medical device.

It files rather than cuts, which is the entire safety argument. A newborn's nail is soft and the fingertip beneath it is easy to nick with clippers - a rotating file removes the nail edge gradually and stops well short of skin.

AT A GLANCE

• Files gradually instead of cutting
• Designed for newborns and infants
• Light at 175g, portable
• ABS construction, colour box packaging

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

• Filing, Not Cutting: There is no blade to close on a fingertip - the file removes the nail edge progressively, which is why it suits a newborn.
• Safe on Soft Nails: A newborn's nail is soft and their fingertip sits close behind it; gradual filing avoids the nick that clippers commonly cause.
• Light Enough for One Hand: At 175g it can be held steadily while holding a baby with the other hand.
• Quiet Enough Not to Wake Them: Designed for use on a sleeping or settled baby.
• Travels Easily: Portable size for a changing bag.
• Grows With Them: Usable as the child gets older and nails harden.
